Philippe Hansen-Estruch

I am currently a part-time student researcher at GenAI Meta and a second year PhD student in Electrical and Computer Enginering (ECE) at the University of Texas, Austin, advised by Prof. Sriram Vishwanath.

I received my Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) with highest honors from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2022, and my Master's degree, also from Berkeley, in 2023. During my time at Berkeley, I was a student researcher at the Robotic AI & Learning Lab (RAIL), where I was advised by Prof. Sergey Levine.

Selected Research

My research interests lie in the fields of high resolution generative modeling, representation learning, and in vision + language modeling. Currently, I am working on developing novel auto-encoders for speeding up high resolution image and video generation. I am also working in adaptive tokenization for VLMs (vision language model) to improve performance and reduce computational cost.
